MAC is the short form of Media Access Control. Mac OS X was first mentioned in Apple’s OS strategy announcement at the 1998 WWDC. MAC OS is the apples operating system for Macintosh computers. This software is created in the UNIX foundation. It is based on the openstep technology. Some of the top MAC softwares are listed below.

Quicksilver allows you to navigate to what you need quickly and easily, while keeping your hands on the keyboard.
