Horror Films have been criticized for their graphic violence and dismissed as low budget B-movies and exploitation films.Horror films incorporate elements of other genres such as science fiction, fantasy,  black comedy, and thrillers.Horror films developed out of a number of sources. This  films effectively center on the dark side of life, the forbidden, and strange and alarming events.They are the top horror movies lists.

1.  Child’s Play

Child’s Play is a 1988 supernatural horror film  directed by Tom Holland.”Child’s Play” is wonderfully brilliant movie. The most interesting thing about Child’s Play is Chucky.The doll was terrifying shape and the actors were also horrible. the killer toys movie is excellent movie.The movie concept is excellent that is an entertaining watch.

2. The Stepford  Wives

The Stepford Wives is the first starred Katharine Ross and was released in 1975, while a remake starring Nicole Kidman appeared in 2004.The Stepford Wives, a story about selfish men who will stop at nothing to have subservient wives make great horror.The acting is good–Ross  is excellent as is Paula Prentiss as her very energetic best friend Bobbi.The Stepford Wives packs a few good punches.

3. The Mummy

The two earliest versions of The Mummy were silent films.This film Directed by Karl Freund. The Mummy is a 1932 horror film from Universal Pictures.This movie is full of intriguing imagery and suspense.   This movie concept to the cultures of many in Western civilizations. Mummy is th good Classic Movie Monster.I think It wouldn’t be a great movie.

4. Carrie

Carrie is a American horror film directed by Brian De Palma.Carrie was the first Stephen King novel.The film and the novel deal with a socially outcast teenage girl, Carrie White, who discovers she possesses telekinetic powers after being subjected to both physical and mental harassment by her peers, teachers, and her mother. The film stars Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Betty Buckley, Amy Irving, and John Travolta. Carrie is not so much a horror film as it is a psychological one.This is a film about the monster within us all.

5. Rosemary’s Baby

For the film based on the novel.Rosemary’s Baby is a good horror film directed by Roman Polanski.Most of the credit for what makes “Rosemary’s Baby” such a successful film goes to Roman Polanski.The ending of the movie was when Rosemary went next door to see her baby and there were all the devil worshipers there. The baby was in the bassinet and when she saw him she screamed.Rosemary’s Baby is the good classic horror movie.

6. The Exorcist

The Exorcist is 1973 American horror film.This film is Academic Award- Winning film. The Film is one of a cycle of ‘demonic child’ movies, including The Omen series and Rosemary’s Baby.it was based on a true story, and the Woman who played the Mother actually died a year after making it.At the climax of the exorcism, Father Merrin dies of heart failure and Father Karras shouts at the demon to enter him.The film ends as the MacNeil mother and daughter leave Georgetown to move on from their ordeal.

7. Ringu

Ring  is a Japanese horror film. The film is the highest grossing horror film in Japan and is also considered the most frightening horror movie in Japan according to the investigation of Oricon.The storyline is based an  Urban legend that involves a piece of footage that causes the eventual death of anyone having watched it. A news reporter, Reiko , is doing a feature on the sudden inexplicable death of her niece and several of her friends who, it is rumored, died exactly one week after watching a cursed videotape.Ringu is the good japanese horror film.

8. Poltergeist

The Poltergeist movies are a trilogy of horror films.The film was nominated for three Academy Awards without any wins- Best Original Score , Best Sound Effects Editing, and Best Visual Effects. Poltergeist is a good horror film.It goes beyond the idea of typical ghosts in sheets jumping out of nowhere and saying “boo!”.Most of the adventure takes place in their world rather than ours,although we cannot see what is going on there.This is a very thrilling movie.

9. Psycho

Psycho is a  suspense and horror film directed by auteur Alfred Hitchcock.Psycho is also acclaimed as one of the most effective horror films.It was a genre defining film, and almost every scene is legendary, and many have been copied or parodied.The movie set a new and very high standard in horror movies. The characters were great, the direction perfect and the music,absolutely fantastic.Many people here think this is Hitchcock’s greatest film.

10. The Shining

The horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick, based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name.The film stars Jack Nicholson,  Shelley Duvall  Wendy, and Danny Lloyd as their son, Danny.The film tells the fictional story of a writer, Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson), and his wife and son, who move into a reclusive hotel as caretaker. While there Torrance plans to write his new novel, but is distracted by mysterious occurences in the hotel and slowly goes crazy, going after his wife and son with an axe. Initial response to the film was mixed, but it did well at the box office. Subsequent critical assessment of the film has been more favorable.
